Dear colleagues,

Following the requests expressed by several colleagues for a short extension of the deadline for abstracts’ submission in the 4th Euro-Mediterranean Conference on “VISIONING MED 2020+ / Mediterranean in Transition: Preserving the Past - Preparing for the Future” (http://www.smartbluecity.com/) and due to the quite special circumstances of COVID-19 recovery period we are going through, we are glad to let you know that a short extension of abstracts’ submission is provided till June 26, 2020.

The rest important dates of the Conference remain unchanged and are as follows:

· 30 June 2020: Notification of acceptance to authors
· 15 July 2020: Deadline for early-bird registration
· 30 August 2020: Deadline for late registration

As already mentioned in our previous message, the 4th Euro-Mediterranean Conference is supported by the European Commission and will also feature sessions on the European Green Deal and the Horizon Europe Mission on Climate-neutral and Smart Cities.

We are looking forward to a fruitful and productive cooperation with invited speakers from the European Commission with respect to forthcoming challenges and opportunities in themes of common interest.

We are thankful to all those who have already submitted interesting abstracts and ideas that are falling into the themes explored in the 4th Euro-Mediterranean Conference, stepping forward progress and fruitful ideas for dealing with emerging challenges in the Mediterranean scenery. We strongly believe that your contributions will render the Conference a fertile ground for interaction and synergies’ creation among the scientific, political and entrepreneurial community.

As Greece seems to have a quite good performance with respect to COVID-19 crisis, we hope you will join the Conference event in the vibrant and safe city of Athens in person.
